Location

The venue is located at the Florida State Fairgrounds, and it’s a beautiful space. The amphitheater is located at 4802 US Hwy 301 North. Tampa, FL 33610.

History

With a capacity of 24,500, the venue is one of the largest amphitheaters in Florida. It hosts many concerts and festivals each year, including Rock the Park (a Memorial Day weekend music festival), Fort Rock (a summer rock festival), Country 500 and MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheater Festival.

The amphitheatre features a number of amenities for concertgoers, such as two general admission lawns on either side of the stage with reserved chairback seating available in front; VIP areas; bars and concessions stands; a kids area with activities and games; restrooms; merchandise stands selling official concert merchandise; backstages where bands can prepare before they perform; golf carts to help transport people around the venue quickly when there’s no traffic jam inside.

Events

Concerts and festivals are the main events at the amphitheater. The venue hosts many concerts and festivals throughout the year, including events that are seasonal in nature. Many of these concerts are hosted by artists who have been nominated for or won Grammy Awards, such as Bruce Springsteen, Jay Z and Beyoncé. Concerts at this venue often sell out quickly due to their popularity among fans of all ages and genres.

The amphitheater also hosts sporting events on occasion, including the NFL Pro Bowl from 1993 to 2016 and multiple matches during the 2020 World Cup Soccer tournament. These sporting events tend to be less popular than their musical counterparts but can still draw crowds when held during prime time hours on long weekends or holidays like Memorial Day weekend or Labor Day weekend (in May).

Past events

The amphitheater has hosted a number of notable events. Some of the most popular include concerts by Dave Matthews Band, The Rolling Stones, and U2.

Smoking is not allowed in the amphitheater. This includes smoking cigarettes, cigars or pipes. You will be asked to leave if you are caught smoking on the lawn or in the general admission area. Smoking is also not permitted in the parking lot, concession areas, restrooms and box office area at Midflorida Credit Union Amphitheatre.

The amphitheater does not allow professional cameras, video or audio recording equipment, large bags, umbrellas and weapons.

Professional cameras include:

• DVCPRO (Digital Video Camera format)
• DVCAM (Digital Video Camera format)
• Mini-DV tape based camcorders are also unacceptable as they do not record in the digital domain.

Video recording and/or still photography using DSLR or other professional style camera(s) is prohibited at any time while on property or within view of any MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre venue entrance or exit. The only exception to this would be if you have a valid press pass issued by MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre and /or an approved credentialed media outlet.

The following items are not permitted too:

• Lawn chairs taller than two feet (measurements must be taken from the ground to the top of the chair)
• Coolers and ice chests
• Bags larger than 12″x12″x6″, including purses and backpacks, as well as camera bags, binocular cases and diaper bags. Oversized bags will need to be returned to your vehicle or can be checked at Guest Services for no additional cost. You will not be allowed access into the venue if you have an oversized bag with you.
• Large umbrellas are not permitted due to safety concerns for those in attendance with mobility limitations.

An ADA viewing area with limited seating is available to concertgoers with disabilities.
