Temporary Lane Closure S Ashley Drive to begin January 2, 2020 for Sidewalk Construction
A portion of S Ashley Drive between W Whiting Street and W Brorein Street will close beginning on Thursday, January 2, 2020 for sidewalk construction. A private contractor will be repairing the existing sidewalk on the west side of S Ashley Drive south of W Whiting Street due to demolition of the Cap Trust building.
One (1) southbound lane on S Ashley Drive between W Whiting Street and W Brorein Street will close daily from 9 am – 4 pm beginning on January 2, 2020.
Southbound traffic on S Ashley Drive will be maintained in the northbound through lane at all times during construction. Northbound traffic on S Ashley Drive will be maintained in the northbound right turn lane at all times during construction.
The sidewalk on the west side of S Ashley Drive between W Whiting Street and W Brorein Street will be closed during construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times.
It is anticipated that all lanes on S Ashley Drive between W Whiting Street and W Brorein Street will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, January 3, 2020, weather permitting.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
