Temporary Lane Closures George Road began on October 21, 2019 for Utility Construction

A portion of George Road between Independence Parkway and Dana Shores Drive closed on Monday, October 21, 2019 for utility construction.  A utility contractor is installing underground conduit and removing above ground wires and utility poles along George Road for overhead to underground utility conversion. 

There will be daily southbound and northbound lane closures on George Road between Independence Parkway and the Dana Shores Drive beginning on at 9 am on October 21, 2019.

Southbound and northbound traffic on George Road between Independence Parkway and the Dana Shores Drive will be intermittently maintained at all times during construction, with delays. 

There will also be southbound and northbound lane closures on Dana Shores Drive between Pelican Island Drive and Doral Drive, outside of the City Limits, during this project.

All lanes on George Road will be open to traffic by 4 pm on November 1, 2019, weather permitting. 

Motorists should allow extra time when traveling on George Road and Dana Shores Drive.
