TAMPA POLICE LAUNCH NEW CRIME PREVENTION MONTH CAMPAIGN
Follow ’31 Days of Safety’ on social media or at tampagov.net/CrimePrevention for daily safety tips
TAMPA, FL (October 1, 2019)—The Tampa Police Department is delivering a daily dose of safety to community members this October. The department’s new “31 Days of Safety” campaign features a different safety message or interactive activity each day in observance of National Crime Prevention Month. The goal of the 31-day campaign is to educate residents in hopes they will continue taking the proper measures to protect themselves against crime throughout year.
“31 Days of Safety” kicks off with a reminder for motorists to ‘practice safe text’ and put down their cellphones while driving. Starting October 1, Florida motorists can be stopped for holding a wireless device in a designated school crossing, school zone or active work zone.
Community members are encouraged to follow “31 Days of Safety” on the department’s official social media channels or at tampagov.net/CrimePrevention
