Temporary Lane Closures on W Waters Avenue and N Florida Avenue to begin July 22, 2019 for Utility Construction

A portion of W Waters Avenue between I-275 and North Boulevard and a portion of N Florida Avenue between E Bird Street and W Waters Avenue will close beginning at 9 am on Monday, July 22, 2019, as part of a Capital Improvement Project.  The City contractor will cut and plug an existing water main for future intersection improvements on W Waters Avenue at the intersection at N Florida Avenue.

Both westbound lanes on W Waters Avenue between N Florida Avenue and N Tampa Street will close on Monday, July 22, 2019.  The northbound left turn lane on N Florida Avenue at the intersection of W Waters Avenue will also be closed during the construction.

Sidewalks in the construction area will be closed.  Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks in the area with signage.

All lanes on W Waters Avenue and N Florida Avenue will be open by 4 pm on Friday, August 16, 2019, weather permitting. 

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use westbound detour routes to avoid traffic congestion.  Westbound motorists can use W Busch Boulevard or W Sligh Avenue between N Florida Avenue and North Boulevard in lieu of W Waters Avenue.
