Temporary Lane Closures on W Azeele Street and S Himes Avenue to begin November 5, 2018 for Sewer Maintenance
A portion of W Azeele Street between S Dale Mabry Highway and S MacDill Avenue and S Himes Avenue between W Kennedy Boulevard and W Swann Avenue will close nightly beginning on Monday, November 5, 2018. A City contractor will be cleaning sewer lines in W Azeele Street beginning at the intersection of S Sterling Avenue and continuing easterly to S Gunlock Avenue.
One (1) eastbound and one (1) westbound lane on W Azeele Street between S Dale Mabry Highway and Henderson Boulevard will close nightly from 7 pm to 6 am the following morning beginning on November 5, 2018. One lane of eastbound and westbound traffic on W Azeele Street between S Dale Mabry Highway and Henderson Boulevard will be maintained at all times, with delays.
S Himes Avenue between W Platt Street and W Horatio Street will also be closed on November 5, 2018. Northbound and southbound traffic on S Himes Avenue at the intersection of W Azeele Street will be restricted to right turn only movements during the construction.
It is anticipated that all lanes on W Azeele Street between S Dale Mabry Highway and Henderson Boulevard and S Himes Avenue between W Platt Street and W Horatio Street will be open by 6 am on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, weather permitting.
The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
Westbound motorists on W Azeele Street intending to travel southbound on S Himes Avenue can use S Dale Mabry Highway to W Swann Avenue to S Himes Avenue. Eastbound motorists on W Azeele Street intending to travel northbound on S Himes Avenue can use S MacDill Avenue to W Kennedy Boulevard to N Himes Avenue.
Southbound motorists on S Himes Avenue, north of W Azeele Street can use S Dale Mabry Highway between W Azeele Street and W Swann Avenue as an alternate route. Northbound motorists on S Himes Avenue, south of W Azeele Street can use S MacDill Avenue between W Azeele Street and W Kennedy Boulevard as an alternate route.
