Temporary Lane Closure on N Howard Avenue June 22, 2018 for Monitoring Well Installations

A portion of N Howard Avenue between W Main Street and W Tampa Bay Boulevard will close on Friday, June 22, 2018 to installs two (2) monitoring wells on N Howard Avenue.    A private contractor will install monitoring wells in the sidewalks on both sides of N Howard Avenue to the north of W Columbus Drive.

One (1) northbound lane on N Howard Avenue between W St. Louis Street and W Kathleen Street and the northbound bike lane on N Howard Avenue between W Columbus Drive and W Kathleen Street will close at 9 am on June 22, 2018.   

One (1) northbound lane will be maintained on N Howard Avenue at all times, during the construction, with delays.

Sidewalks within the work areas on N Howard Avenue will be closed during construction.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times.

 All lanes on N Howard Avenue will reopen to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, June 22, 2018, weather permitting. 

 The City recommends that motorists use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.  Northbound motorists can use N MacDill Avenue between W Cypress Street and W Tampa Bay Boulevard in lieu of N Howard Avenue.   Truck traffic should use N Himes Avenue between W Cypress Street and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
