City of Tampa Releases Updated Logistics for This Weekend’s Festivities

Please see below for transportation and parking options as well as prohibited items during this week’s Riverfront Rock.

Parking/ Transportation Options

Parking

Parking near Julian B. Lane Riverfront will be limited during Riverfront Rock on Saturday & Sunday. However, we will be offering a variety of free shuttle and transportation options to make your commute to the park a speedy and enjoyable experience! Please see the map below when referencing the following options.

Disabled Parking

Disabled parking will be available near the Southwest corner of the park.

Request ADA disability accommodations for the event.

Bike Valet

Free bike valet will be available to anyone that chooses to bike to Riverfront Rock. This service will make it easy for attendees to bike to the park, check in their bikes at the valet, and pick them back up at the end of their visit. The bike valet will be free for all attendees and offer a convenient and secure way to store your bike while you experience the park. In addition, Laurel St will be closed to vehicles, allowing visitors to easily bike from the Tampa Riverwalk and across Fortune Taylor Bridge without crossing traffic.

Pirate Water Taxi Shuttle

A free water taxi service will be available from MacDill Park directly to Julian B Lane Riverfront Park. The shuttle stop is located at MacDill Park along the Tampa Riverwalk, just a short walk from the Ft. Brooke Parking Garage and TECO Line Streetcar’s Whiting Street Station. This service is free and provides visitors a unique waterfront view of the park.

Regular Pirate Water Taxi service will also be available from other locations for a fee. For more information, visit piratewatertaxi.com.

Bus Shuttle

HART bus service (97-Extension) will be available with a pick-up and drop-off location on the west side of the park. This complimentary service will provide rides every 30 minutes. Park in the Interstate Lot or Royal Regional Lot for easy access to the nearby HART 97-Extension stops. See the map below for all pick-up/drop-off locations along the route.

Rideshare

Visitors utilizing rideshare services like Uber and Lyft will need to use the designated pick-up/drop-off locations conveniently along North Boulevard and at the intersection of Doyle Carlton Dr & Laurel St.

Downtowner

The Downtowner is a free rideshare service operating in Tampa’s Downtown. Visitors can download the app to their smartphones to request a ride. The Downtowner drop off/pickup point is located at the intersection of Doyle Carlton Dr & Laurel St. Download the app at ridedowntowner.com.

Coast Bike Share

Coast Bike Share is a bike rental service with racks located throughout Tampa’s downtown and other parts of the city. Racks are located at the intersection of Doyle Carlton Dr & Laurel St and two new racks will be located inside Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park. Walk

Those wishing to walk to the park from downtown Tampa can park at the Royal Regional or Interstate parking lots and cross over the Fortune Taylor Bridge. The bridge will be closed to vehicles, allowing attendees to walk from the Tampa Riverwalk and across Fortune Taylor Bridge without crossing traffic.

Public Boat Docks

A limited number of public docks for motorized boats are available on the north side of the park. The docks at the boathouse and to the south of that are not available for public boat docking. Please see the location of our public motorized boat docks on the site plan map.

Prohibited Items

For the safety and enjoyment of others, the following items are prohibited in Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park on Saturday, May 12th & Sunday, May 13th, 2018. All bags and guests are subject to search.

  • Firearms, explosives, dangerous weapons including any type of edged weapon to include knives, impact weapons, electric pulse weapons
  • Beer, wine, liquor or any other alcoholic beverage
  • Bags, backpacks, briefcases or purses larger than 12 inches by 12 inches. Limit one per person & all bags will be searched.
  • Coolers or containers, sealed plastic water bottles allowed
  • Bicycles, roller skates/blades, skateboards, “Razor” style boards, or any other self-propelled device
  • High-backed folding chairs
  • Laser pointers
  • Flags or Banners with Poles and signs of any kind
  • Other items that in the judgment of security pose a safety hazard or diminish the enjoyment of an event by other patrons.
