Temporary Lane Closure on E Twiggs Street September 18, 2017 for Utility Work

A portion of E Twiggs Street between N Jefferson Street and N Meridian Avenue will close on Monday, September 18, 2017, for Expressway Authority Connected Vehicle Pilot Project. One (1) eastbound lane on E Twiggs Street between N Nebraska Avenue and N Meridian Street will close at 9 am on September 18, 2017. The Expressway Authority contractor will be installing equipment on the existing traffic signal mast arm over E Twiggs Street to the west of N Meridian Avenue, as part of the Connect Vehicle Pilot Project. All lanes on E Twiggs Street will reopen by 4 pm, weather permitting.
The Expressway Authority contractor will be installed equipment at several intersections in the downtown area over the next month. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by the end of October 2017.
The City recommends that motorists use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion. Eastbound motorists can use E Jackson Street between N Jefferson Street and N Meridian Avenue in lieu E Twiggs Street.
