Adam Ant to play Capitol Theatre; Mahaffey welcomes Maxwell; Kendrick Lamar and Mumford & Sons visits Amalie. Tampa Bay area venues, both large and small, will welcome a diverse selection of musical artists in the coming weeks.
“I Love the ’90s – The Party Continues” will make a stop in the Tampa Bay area for one performance Sunday, Sept. 10, 6:30 p.m., at Al Lang Stadium, 230 First St. SE, St. Petersburg.
This superstar blast-from-the-past show toured last year to rave reviews. It is back on the road this year featuring sets from TLC, Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath, Coolio and All-4-One.
Grammy award-winning TLC has sold more than 65 million records worldwide, including their classic sophomore album “CrazySexyCool.” Audiences will hear songs from their new album release and favorites such as “Creep,” “Unpretty,” “Waterfalls” and “No Scrubs.” Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath will be performing the group’s breakout No. 1 hit single “Fly,” and other smash hits including “Every Morning,” “Someday” and “When It’s Over.” Coolio (Artis Leon Ivey Jr.) is an American rapper, chef, actor and record producer who achieved mainstream fame with his albums “It Takes a Thief,” “Gangsta’s Paradise” and “My Soul.” The too-hot-to-handle group All-4-One is best known for their cover hit single “I Swear” from their self-titled 1994 album.
As part of the Ruth Eckerd Hall On the Road series and in partnership with the city of Clearwater, Bryan Adams will perform with his full band on Sunday, Sept. 10, 7 p.m., at Coachman Park, 301 Drew St., Clearwater.
Adams is on tour in support of “Get Up,” his 13th studio album, which was released in October 2015. Produced by famed ELO frontman Jeff Lynne and co-written with his long-time collaborator Jim Vallance, the album features nine new songs and four acoustic versions.
As Canada’s best-known ambassador, Adams has spent the last three decades making music history. He has sold upward of 65 million records, toured six continents and achieved No. 1 status in over 40 countries around the world. He has been awarded the Order of Canada, has been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and has a Star on Canada’s Walk of Fame.
Among Adams’ most recognized hits are “Summer of ’69,” “Run To You” and “Cuts Like A Knife.”
