Temporary Lane Closure of Jackson Street and Pierce Street to begin July 27, 2017 for Utility Construction

 Phase 3 of the TECO Washington Street Substation Upgrade Project will begin at 7 pm on Thursday, July 27, 2017.  Phase 2 construction work on the southwest corner of Jackson Street and Jefferson Street is scheduled to be completed by 5 am on Thursday, July 27, 2017, weather permitting.

A portion of Jackson Street between Morgan Street and Jefferson Street and a portion of Pierce Street between Madison Street and Jackson Street will close at 7 pm on Thursday, July 27, 2017, as part of the Phase 3 work.  The TECO subcontractor will be working in the existing manhole at the northeast corner of Jackson Street and Pierce Street.  One (1) lane of Jackson Street between Morgan Street and Jefferson Street and two (2) southbound lanes on Pierce Street between Kennedy Boulevard and Jackson Street will close nightly, Monday through Friday, from 7 pm to 5 am beginning on July 27, 2017.  It is anticipated that this phase of construction work will be completed by 5 am on Saturday,   August 5, 2017, weather permitting.

The City recommends using alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.
