Temporary Road Closures on Cass Street and Franklin Street for 915 Franklin Building Construction

A portion of Cass Street from Tampa Street to Florida Avenue and Franklin Street from Polk Street to Tyler Street will close at 1 pm on Thursday, June 1, 2017 to stage two (2) cranes on Cass Street and on Franklin Street.  The cranes are being used to disassemble the existing tower crane at 915 Franklin.  The work is being completed by Maxim Crane Works for DPR Construction. 

Bicyclists using the Cass Street Cycle Track between Tampa Street and Florida Avenue will be rerouted to adjacent streets during the construction.

Cass Street from Tampa Street to Franklin Street and Franklin Street from Polk Street to Tyler Street will temporarily reopen to traffic on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 6 pm through Saturday, June 3, 2017  at 7 pm.  On June 3, 2017, at 7 pm Cass Street from Tampa Street to Franklin Street and Franklin Street from Polk Street to Tyler Street will close for demobilization.  

Access to The Element residential tower parking garage on Cass Street will be available from Tampa Street at all times during the construction. 

It is anticipated that Cass Street and Franklin Street will be reopen to traffic by 5 am on Monday, June 5, 2017, weather permitting.   

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid congestion.
