(This is a revision to the Traffic Advisories sent out on May 8, May 16 and June 12, 2017)

The ongoing TECO substation upgrade project construction schedule has been extended.  A portion of Plant Avenue between Platt Street to Grand Central Avenue will close on Friday, June 23, 2017, for utility construction.  TECO will be installing new electrical lines between existing manholes in Plant Avenue as part of the ongoing TECO substation upgrade project.

Beginning on June 23, 2017, one (1) lane on Plant Avenue from Platt Avenue to Grand Central Avenue will close Monday through Friday from 9 am to 2 pm and nightly from 7 pm to 6 am the following morning. On Saturday, one (1) lane on Plant Avenue will close from 9 am to 9 pm. One lane of traffic on Plant Avenue will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.   No lane closures will take place on Sundays.

Sidewalks and crosswalks along Plant Avenue will be closed throughout the construction area. Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks with signage.

It is anticipated that this phase of construction work will be completed by 2 pm on Friday, July 21, 2017, weather permitting.

The City recommends using alternative northbound routes to avoid traffic congestion.
