Kool & the Gang to play at Rowdies’ celebration

ST. PETERSBURG – The Rowdies will host an Independence Day Celebration Thursday, July 6, 8 p.m., at Al Lang Stadium, 230 First St. SE, St. Petersburg.

The night will kick off with the U.S. Special Operations Command Parachute Demonstration Team, widely known as the Para-Commandos, delivering the American Flag to the field from an altitude of 12,500 feet. The Para-Commandos are comprised of active-duty military or Department of Defense civilians assigned to U.S. Operations Command at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa.

The Tampa Bay Rowdies take on FC Cincinnati.

After the match, fans will enjoy a free Kool & the Gang concert presented by Big Storm Brewing Co., the official craft beer partner of the Tampa Bay Rowdies and brewer of Kick in the Grass – a light, Pilsner style lager.
