Chris Godwin Turning Heads at OTAs
Chris Godwin Turning Heads at OTAs

WATCH: HIGHLIGHTS FROM THURSDAY
During his short time at One Buc Place, Godwin has more than lived up to his third-round status. He’s been one of the most impressive Buccaneers on the field. When Head Coach Dirk Koetter asked who’s stood out to him, Godwin’s was the first out of his mouth.
While Godwin has stood out in each of the Bucs’ two open OTA practices, he will still face stiff competition to see playing time. In addition to Jackson and Mike Evans, who will consume the team’s top two receiver spots, the Bucs have Humphries, who performed well as the team’s No. 3 receiver a year ago. They are among 11 wide receivers vying for a spot on the 53-man roster.

Godwin has a long way to go before opening day, but is comfortable with the progress he’s made in his short time at One Buc Place.
“I definitely feel like I’ve been making progress,” Godwin said. “Obviously, it’s a lot to learn. It’s a lot to kind of take in, but the veteran guys, they’ve been doing a great job of helping not only myself, but the rest of the rookies kind of get acclimated. So, just having their help and having their confidence in me has allowed me to really come in and kind of make plays and be comfortable doing what I do.”
