The City of Tampa will be planting trees throughout Tampa’s Downtown as part of the Downtown Street Tree Replacement Plan. Temporary sidewalk closures will occur on several streets in the downtown area begin at 9 am on Monday, May 15, 2017. City of Tampa’s contractor will be installing trees along the following street block segments in the downtown area:
- Morgan Street (Tyler Street to Cass Street) East side
- Morgan Street (Cass Street to Polk Street) West side
- Cass Street (Marion Street to Morgan Street) South side
- Franklin Street (Zack Street to Polk Street) East side
- Polk Street (Marion Street to Morgan Street) South side
- Zack Street (Marion Street to Morgan Street) North side
- Jefferson Street (Kennedy Boulevard to Jackson Street) East side
- Jefferson Street (Kennedy Boulevard to Jackson Street) West side
- Kennedy Boulevard (Brush Street to Nebraska Avenue) North side
Pedestrian access will be available on the opposite side of the street at all times during the tree installation. The four (4) trees being installed on Jefferson Street between Kennedy Boulevard and Jackson Street, will be phased so both sidewalks are not closed at the same time.
The tree installation process should be completed by 4pm on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, weather permitting.
