Classic Albums Live to perform Rush’s 2112

CLEARWATER – Classic Albums Live will present Rush – 2112 on Friday, June 16, 8 p.m., at Capitol Theatre, 405 Cleveland St., Clearwater.

Tickets start at $35. Call 727-791-7400 or visit www.atthecap.com.

Rush’s “2112” features the seven-part title suite telling a dystopian story set in the year 2112. It is sometimes described as a concept album although the songs on the second side are unrelated to the suite. “2112” is listed in the book “1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die” and it was ranked second on Rolling Stone’s list of Favorite Prog Rock Albums of All Time.

Anything but a cover band, like a symphony orchestra performing the works of Mozart, Classic Albums Live forgoes the gimmickry of costumes and impersonations, putting the music first. These world-class musicians tackle iconic music, concentrating solely on re-creating it as you remember it from the original recording. The attention to detail is staggering – every sound from the album is re-created live on stage by world-class musicians assembled for each album presentation.

Founded in 2003 by Craig Martin, Classic Albums Live has become the ultimate destination for music lovers wanting to hear the greatest albums performed live. Classic Albums Live has defined itself as a mainstay in performing arts centers across North America.

“Think of it as a recital,” said Martin, founder and producer of Classic Albums Live. “We approach the music with the utmost respect and care, and deliver exactly what we promote, ‘note for note, cut for cut’ accuracy. From start to finish it’s an absolutely perfect record and we’re going to treat it with the ultimate respect.”

Classic Albums Live will return later this summer for another concert appearance at Capitol Theatre.

Classic Albums Live will perform “Led Zeppelin IV” on Friday, July 21, at Capitol Theatre. Tickets start at $35. Call 727-791-7400 or visit www.atthecap.com.

“Led Zeppelin IV” was a commercial and critical success, featuring many of the band’s best-known songs, including “Black Dog,” “Rock and Roll,” “Going to California” and “Stairway to Heaven.” The album is one of the best-selling albums of all time.
